Contract Duration: ASAP for 12 weeks
Base Rate: Up to $72.31/hour | Penalties: Up to $180.78/hour | Plus overtime, super, unique salary packaging opportunities & Verus' education allowance
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and effective mental health care to children and adolescents experiencing a range of psychiatric and psychological issues.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring responses and advocating for adjustments as needed.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options and community resources.
- Participate in crisis intervention and management, ensuring patient safety and stabilisation during acute episodes.
- Document patient progress accurately and maintain confidential medical records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists and educators to coordinate care and support holistic treatment goals.
- Advocate for the needs of children and youth in community outreach initiatives.
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration.
- A minimum of 5 years' recent mental health nursing experience, with a minimum of 2 years' experience working with young people.
- Post-graduate qualifications are highly desirable.
