Base Rate: $70/hour | Penalties: Up to $175/hour | Plus overtime, super, unique salary packaging opportunities & Verus' education allowance
Responsibilities:
- Patient Care: Provide high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at all times.
- Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Medication Management: Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and educate patients on their medication regimes.
- Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage psychiatric emergencies, providing immediate and effective intervention.
- Therapeutic Support: Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, promoting therapeutic relationships and supportive environments.
- Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring holistic and patient-centered care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patient needs and rights, ensuring their voices are heard and respected in care decisions.
- Family and Caregiver Support: Provide education and support to patients' families and caregivers to promote understanding and involvement in the care process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Discharge Planning: Assist with discharge planning, coordinating with community resources to ensure a smooth transition for patients leaving the hospital.
- Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, maintaining a safe and ethical practice environment.
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration.
- A minimum of 2 years' recent mental health nursing experience in an Inpatient setting.
- Post-graduate qualifications and in-charge experience are highly desirable.
