Job Description

Triage nursing in northern NT offers a unique and exciting contract with diverse healthcare challenges. You'll work with a culturally rich population including Indigenous Australians, and serve remote communities, gaining expertise in rural health. Outside of work, stunning landscapes, outdoor activities and coastal exploration provide endless adventure. Base Rate: Up to $95.32/hour | Penalties: Up to $238.29/hour (public holidays) | Plus superannuation, away-from-home salary packaging options & Verus' education allowance


  • Conduct initial mental health assessments.
  • Provide crisis intervention and stabilisation.
  • Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Refer patients to appropriate mental health services.
  • Engage in community outreach and education.
  • Offer ongoing support and counseling to patients and their families / support networks.
  • Utilise telehealth technologies for remote consultations.


  • Current AHPRA registration.
  • A minimum of 2 years' mental health nursing experience in triage within a community team.
  • Experience of working within the Australian healthcare system.
  • Post-graduate qualifications highly desirable.
