About the role:

• As a VMO, you will be responsible for providing psychiatric care to patients in the Peel region.
• You will manage and maintain patient records and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
• You will provide oversight of 1 x Inpatient Team with 6-7 patients and supervise a psychiatric registrar.
• You will provide consultant psychiatric input to the extended care service community team for a few hours each day with support of a Career Medical Officer.

Duties:

• Provide psychiatric care to patients in the Peel region.
• Manage and maintain patient records.
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Skills & experience:

• Must have a degree in psychiatry.
• Must have at least 5 years of experience working as a psychiatrist.
• Must be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
